Dr. Jon Aho had many thoughts about a career path before deciding to become a general surgeon. While working and doing research at the Mayo Clinic, Dr. Aho and his team created a device to solve a medical problem for doctors when dealing with tension pneumothorax. In order to know if the procedure worked regarding this condition medical personnel would need to hear a “rush of air”. Many times EMT’s or doctors can be in a noisy environment that can make hearing difficult. Dr. Aho’s company, Pneumeric Capnospot, created a device that turns from blue to yellow so medical personnel can see that the procedure was successful. Dr. Aho spoke about finding investors for the start up, putting a team together, scalability, legal structure, distribution of the product, revenue streams, and the life of a general surgeon.

Dr. Aho told the young professionals to not be afraid to change their minds regarding their future plans , be honest, hardworking, and always do your best! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and time with SWMN CEO!
